Key Highlight: Hydraulic Bottoming System in Our YZ 65/85 Kit

Anyone who watched the kids race at the Australian Supercross over the weekend would have witnessed some incredible moments. Seeing young riders launch their YZ85s over full-size triple jumps was nothing short of amazing! But our hearts skipped a beat when our youngest gun, Jaggar Townley, cased the triple early in the final. The impact from such a great height was massive.

In stock form, the YZ85's OEM bottoming system is not built to handle impacts like these. Unlike senior-sized bikes with advanced internal technology, the stock YZ uses a basic hard rubber-to-steel or alloy interface. This design sends sharp, jarring feedback through the handlebars, often leading to forearm and wrist strain—or worse.

When designing our YZ 65/85 Setup Kit, we made addressing this issue our top priority. After extensive development, we created a hydraulic bottoming system that provides controlled ramp-up resistance during severe impacts. It wasn’t easy—achieving the right taper, length, spring guidance, and tolerance was critical to ensuring smooth, true internal operation. The result? A system that absorbs the force of heavy landings at the near end of stroke so effectively that all the rider feels is a dull “clunk” with minimal feedback to the handlebars.

This weekend, Jaggar pushed our kit to its absolute limit—and it delivered. Despite the massive impact, he rode away uninjured and, in true racer style, hit the same jump again on the following laps. We couldn’t have been prouder to see him ride away ready to regroup and prepare for the 2025 season.  Absolutely with full knowledge this tried and tested bottoming system is installed in this oem fork.

A huge shoutout to all the kids out there pushing boundaries on Saturday night , super impressive something we would not have seen in our day —you inspire us to keep innovating!
