2025 KTM 85 Shock Setup Kit
Also fits 2025+ Husqvarna 85 & GASGAS 85 models
The 2025 KTM 85 (and its Husqvarna/GASGAS siblings) comes with a noticeably low rear in stock trim—likely aimed at soft sand performance. On hardpack, this results in poor chassis balance, vague corner entry, and a lack of front-end confidence. It almost feels like the shock is de-stroked from the factory.
After extensive track testing, we found that lifting the rear ride height by 5mm significantly alongside our custom piton and setting improved the bike’s handling. The added height balanced the chassis, sharpened the turn-in, and allowed for more consistent grip across a variety of surfaces.
What’s Included in the Kit:
- Precision-machined main shock piston / KYB piston Band with Krooztune-developed valving
- Shock Balance plate for chassis stabilty ( +5mm taller in rear)
- Multiple setup options for different rider weights and terrain
- Drill bit to modify and open the bleed circuit for increased oil flow
- Option to buy kit including High-quality nitrogen bladder conversion kit (replaces OEM floating piston)
Why It Works:
These bikes use a non-linkage rear shock, which tends to feel wooden or harsh off the top, while also blowing through the stroke on fast or heavy hits. This makes tuning for lightweight riders especially difficult. More so in 25 with the low rear end. Our balance plate allows you to back off sag if required for ligth rider without the worry of losing shock stroke and travel before slamming the rear guard on every bottom out.
Our setup kit addresses both ends of that spectrum:
- The bleed circuit mod introduces vital low-speed oil flow, giving instant plushness and traction in chop or braking bumps.
- The custom valving and piston design create a more progressive feel, offering the hold-up needed for aggressive landings and square-edged bumps—without losing comfort.
- Overall, it mimics a linkage-like feel, providing improved drive, control, and feedback through the rear.
This is the ultimate shock upgrade for serious junior riders chasing race-ready performance from their 85.
